This video series was the result of a pitch win, on which I was a creative lead towards the end of my time at Zone.
The Wellcome Trust funds groundbreaking scientific research that advances the world's understanding of human health. Unfortunately, not many people know that.
We decided to tell the stories of these pioneering researchers in a cinematic, emotional way, to really hero them, and the patients whose lives they are changing. But we still needed to lay out the hard facts. No easy feat given the complex science at play, and notoriously short attention spans.
I was solely responsible for researching the projects in depth, and translating each into a script that any viewer could grasp.
I also joined our production team on set at most of the shoots as co-director, supervising last-minute script edits, and working with talent.
Always knew that Single Science GCSE would come in handy...
